Today the firewall server arrived. In the near future it is going to run pfSense to provide the services of three WANs to our internal network:
HP ProLiant DL360 G4
- 2x Intel Xeon 3.0 GHz (64 bit)
- 2 GB RAM
- 2x 36 GB Ultra 320 SCSI Hot Swap HDDs
- RAID-Controller HP Smart Array 6i with 64 MB cache
- 2x LAN 10/100/1000 Mbit (onboard)
- 2x LAN 10/100/1000 Mbit (via HP NC7170 [PCI-X])
- 2 redundant power supplies
- 2x PCI-X slots
The setup will happen on next weekend. For those who are interested in pfSense and want to go beyond the tutorials on pfsense.org with a good book, I can recommend “pfSense 2 Cookbook” by Matt Williamson.
